Parenting a Child of a Different Race: What Foster Parents Need to Know

May 16 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Let It Be Us offers a series of virtual education events on topics surrounding Foster Care and Adoption in the State of Illinois. Our Foster Care 102 events are considered a deeper dive – for an introductory event, consider attending our Intro to Foster Care events.

The disproportionate number of children of color in the foster care system means that transracial foster care and adoption is common. We know children thrive on consistency, on feeling comfortable in their homes and their communities. Honoring a child’s culture is an important aspect of supporting and loving the children in your home. Join us as we discuss ways to incorporate a child’s culture to build confidence and help them thrive.
