Megan Butz Legacy Fund

Megan Patricia Butz Legacy Fund

Founded in 2020 to honor the life of Megan Patricia Butz

The family of Megan Patricia Butz established a fund with Let It Be Us to honor Megan’s legacy of helping others as we celebrate her kind, generous spirit. The mission of Megan’s Legacy Fund is to empower children and teens in foster care to become healthy, self-sufficient individuals. The fund captures Megan’s vision of supporting teens as they make their way to adulthood.

Megan believed in volunteering, community involvement, and the power of a smile. She chose to help children and wished all children had a safe home and loving family.

Let It Be Us offers multiple ways for you to contribute to Megan’s legacy to highlight her love of volunteerism and children.

  • Become an event sponsor. Let It Be Us will include your contribution to the Megan Patricia Butz Legacy Fund on sponsorship messaging and event leaderboards.
  • Give directly to Let It Be Us to support initiatives that focus on teens aging out of foster care and their need for support, resources, and a family.

Megan’s spirit lives on with all of us who are passionate about helping others and has been a guiding light to help Let It Be Us launch the Springboard to Adulthood program.

The Butz Family

Meg grew up in the Chicagoland area and graduated from the University of Dayton in 2016. Upon graduation, she was accepted into the Executive Leadership Development Program at ITW, worked at Miller Electric and Traulsen, both ITW companies. Her career took her to Wisconsin and Texas, where she quickly became involved in her communities, volunteering with Big Brother Big Sister, Boys and Girls Club, fostering with Dallas Pets Alive, and teaching Junior Achievement classes. Megan always looked to improve herself and keep learning. She was slated to complete her MBA in 2020 from the University of Dayton. Megan died suddenly at the age of 26.
