The Role
Let It Be Us is uniquely suited to filling the current gaps in the Illinois child welfare system. We
use modern digital recruitment methods to reach prospective foster parents then pair that with
education and personal support to help people on their journey to becoming foster parents.
We use a similar approach to helping case workers find open and licensed homes appropriate
for the waiting children they are looking to place. This role both oversees and does the work in
these two areas: Licensing Coaching and Placement Support.

Responsibilities
Licensing Coaching

  • Review incoming requests, assign to Licensing Coach, as appropriate.
  • Ensure follow up and maintenance of records, including updates on each coaching
    client’s journey, with end result of data and metrics that help assess the program.
  • Support and supervise Licensing Coaches with regular meetings and check-ins.
  • Act as direct referral for coaching clients to licensing agencies.
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with licensing agencies to strengthen partnerships,
    receive feedback on foster parent referrals and update success of each coaching client’s
    journey.

Placement Support

  • Review incoming placement support requests, assign to Placement Support Specialist, as
    appropriate.
  • Track and support placement searches, ensuring a high level of customer service to case
    workers and others involved in the process.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Marketing staff to reach licensed foster homes and
    ensure a thorough search.
  • Participate in relationship building with DCFS and agencies to support Placement
    Support Program and ensure unwavering focus on placing children in homes where they
    can experience stability.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in social work required
  • 5 to 7 years of professional experience with licensing in Illinois foster care required
  • CWEL certification strongly preferred
  • Able to attend periodic staff meetings – Barrington or Chicago, Illinois

  • Comfortable with technology, google, zoom, databases, excel, etc.

Salary/Benefits

  • Flexible remote/hybrid role, full time with flexible schedule
  • Salary commensurate with experience, $70,000 top of range
  • Health insurance, partially covered by employer

The Role

Let It Be Us uses digital marketing, customer service and relationship building paired with education to reach people interested in becoming foster parents and helping them on their journey.  The Foster Home Recruitment Lead will collaborate with the Let It Be Us team, using marketing strategies, relationship building and project management to build a robust recruiting process that pairs with our Licensing Coaching work. This position will do general recruiting as well as recruiting for our targeted programs for teens and children in care who need placement in specialized homes.

Responsibilities

Marketing

  • Develop and coordinate a big picture strategy for marketing aimed at recruiting alongside the Marketing Lead.
  • Project manage and monitor marketing efforts and analyze results.
  • Incorporate new marketing methods, including print, digital, and through partnerships.

Relationship building and management

  • Identify and cultivate partnerships with agencies, organizations and/or individuals to expand Let It Be Us reach.
  • Develop and maintain relationships, ensuring mutually beneficial engagement that supports Let It Be Us’ goal to bring more licensed foster homes into the system so more children are appropriately placed in homes.

Recruitment events

  • Plan and participate in virtual webinars and in-person recruitment events, engage partners and speakers, lead events, lead coordination of logistics.

Create content for recruiting

  • Draft content for marketing purposes, from social media to printed flyers.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Lead to create messaging for recruitment campaigns.

Recruit for diverse populations

  • Create and oversee strategies for recruiting of traditional foster homes, foster homes interested in teens, foster homes for children who are specialized.
  • Work closely with Licensing Coaching and Placement Support team to craft recruiting strategies aimed at types of homes needed for waiting children.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of professional experience, ideally in recruiting or marketing
  • Experience in communications and writing preferred
  • Experience with foster care in Illinois strongly preferred
  • Able to attend periodic staff meetings – Barrington or Chicago, Illinois
