Let It Be Us Announces New Board Leadership to Advance Foster Care and Adoption in Illinois
Let It Be Us is honored to announce new board leadership chosen to advance our mission of foster care and adoption in Illinois. We welcome two exceptional leaders into key board roles at Let It Be Us. Please join us in celebrating the appointment of Kaycee Coles as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, and Robin Kelleher, J.D. as Governance Chair of the Board of Directors.
As the needs of children in foster care grow more complex, and as we expand our reach across the State of Illinois, this new leadership marks a bold step forward in our mission to transform the landscape of foster care and adoption in Illinois.
About Our New Vice Chair: Kaycee Coles
Kaycee Coles brings to the Vice Chair role a deep commitment to children and families, along with extensive professional experience in leadership, community engagement, and systems change. As a former educator, Kaycee has been involved in many nonprofits, including fundraising, and is on our ‘Be Mine’ Fundraising Committee, which is our largest annual fundraiser. Kaycee has long been a champion of child welfare and brings strategic insight to every conversation about what it means to truly serve children waiting in foster care.
Her background in advocacy and nonprofit leadership will strengthen Let It Be Us’s efforts to expand our innovative programs, including the Adoption Listing Service of Illinois, which connects waiting children with licensed families open to foster care adoption.
Kaycee is a parent to three children.
About Our New Governance Chair: Robin Kelleher, J.D.
Robin Kelleher, now serving as Governance Chair, brings both nonprofit governance expertise and a passion for advancing oversight and transparency in board leadership. Robin has a BA in Political Science from Loyola University and a J.D. from DePaul University. She is an attorney with Kelleher + Holland, LLC
Robin will lead our board in ensuring best practices, compliance, and strategic alignment as we continue to grow and deepen our statewide impact.
Her commitment to service and excellence will guide Let It Be Us through the next phase of board development and policy advancement, helping us remain responsive and effective in supporting the children we serve.
Robin is a parent to 4 children and 4 step-children.
Why This Matters Now
In Illinois, hundreds of children in foster care are waiting to be adopted, especially older youth, sibling groups, and those with complex medical or emotional needs. At Let It Be Us, we are doing more than raising awareness; we are building bridges between children and the families who are ready to say yes through designing and implementing innovative technology and by providing exceptional customer service.
With the leadership of Kaycee Coles and Robin Kelleher, we are better positioned than ever to pursue our vision: that every child in foster care, including those awaiting adoption, has the chance to grow up in a safe, permanent, and loving home.
