Join our Intro to Foster Care Series! In this three part series, Let It Be Us child welfare experts and seasoned foster parents will walk you through the foster care system in Illinois, with information and guidance on what it means – and what it takes – to become a foster parent.
Children in foster care need permanency – and permanency can mean a whole bunch of things, including adoption, guardianship or reunifying with biological family. Permanency also means a stable foster home for as long as the child needs it. In this session, we’ll talk about how adoption may be an eventuality in foster care, but is never the first goal for a child.
