Let It Be Us offers a series of virtual educational events on topics surrounding Foster Care and Adoption in the State of Illinois. Our Live Foster Parent Recruitment Events are the in-person portion of this series.

Have you wondered what happens to children in care who have nowhere to go? Join us at this casual, in-person fireside chat to learn about being an Emergency Foster Home with Shelter Inc. Get all your questions answered!

These special homes take in children in emergency situations for a limited time, providing them care and safety at a critical point in their lives. Shelter Inc. provides Emergency Foster Parents wraparound services, supporting foster parents and ensuring children receive what they need. Also, Emergency Foster Parents receive additional financial support. If you are licensed or not yet licensed, living in Chicagoland or the Northern region of Illinois, you are welcome to join and learn about the extra financial and other supports available to Emergency Foster Parents.

We are currently specifically targeting the following individuals:

Education professionals
Educational support professionals
Medical care providers
Mental health care providers
Emergency responders
Individuals with parenting experience
Individuals with special needs experience

This event is located at Barrington’s White House – 145 West Main Street Barrington, Illinois 60010. Parking is available in the lot adjacent to Barrington’s White House. Questions may be directed to Cathy Newbury at cathynewbury@letitbeus.org.
