Let It Be Us Announces the Formation of a New Leadership Council

Let It Be Us is thrilled to share some groundbreaking news about a new Leadership Council that will shape the future of our collective journey. With a commitment to collaboration, innovation, and shared leadership, we are proud to announce the establishment of our inaugural Let It Be Us Leadership Council.
The first guest speaker for the series of Leadership Council meetings was Illinois Senator Mary Edly-Allen, a long-time supporter of Illinois child welfare and previous member of the Illinois Adoption and Child Welfare Committee as an Illinois State Representative. Senator Edly-Allen currently serves on Health and Human Services.
The Leadership Council is composed of exceptional individuals who bring a diverse range of expertise, experience, and perspectives to lend to the organization.
Meeting 3 times per year the Let It Be Us Leadership Council will have opportunities to:
- Hear a report on the work of Let It Be Us including information on the current landscape of child welfare in Illinois
- Ask questions and receive answers
- Hear from and meet guest speakers
- Network with like-minded professionals interested in supporting child welfare
Key responsibilities will be advocating for our mission and values and securing corporate sponsorships to support our work.

The mission of Let It Be Us is to provide collaborative, innovative solutions of effective recruitment and placement for children in Illinois foster and adoptive care. The Let It Be Us vision is for all children in the Illinois child welfare system to achieve educational equity, employment equity, and overall well being through the incorporation of Let It Be Us Programming into statewide advancements in foster care adoption recruitment and placement.
