Let It Be Us is excited to announce that the organization is continuing its commitment with the Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) All Children – All Families Program for 2024. This membership aligns with our commitment to fostering a diverse and welcoming environment for all individuals, regardless of their background or identity.
The Human Rights Campaign’s All Children – All Families program promotes LGBTQ+ inclusive policies and practices within child welfare organizations. By providing comprehensive training and resources, the program guides organizations in creating a safe and affirming space for LGBTQ+ children, youth, and families involved in the child welfare system.
LGBTQ+ youth are overrepresented in the foster care system, and nationally, about 30% of youth in foster care identify as LGBTQ+. At Let It Be Us, we believe that foster parents and children in care who identify as LGBTQIA+ deserve to be treated with respect and compassion, and we strive to demonstrate this commitment through all aspects of our work. Joining the Human Rights Campaign’s All Children – All Families Program is a natural extension of our ongoing efforts to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression, feel supported and valued.
By joining the Human Rights Campaign’s All Children – All Families Program for 2024, Let It Be Us takes a significant and continued step towards creating a more inclusive future.
